(Still) The Enemy Within Goes in Production

Our latest project, (Still) The Enemy Within, a documentary about the miners strike of 1984-85 , continues to go from strength to strength. Our fundraising campaign through Kickstarter raised over £8,000, £1500 above our target and is the first step in getting the film made. Along with other donations from unions and private donations, we have raised enough money to get started. We continue to fund raise and always on the look out for new sources of funding, so get in touch if you want to know more.

Our first round of interviews with striking miners of the time were shot in January, giving us a real insight into the strike and helping to shape our ideas for the film. We also headed up to Barnsley earlier in March to film at the memorial service of David Jones and Joe Green, two miners who lost their lives during the strike. This event really bought home the how the strike still effects people in the area today and how it must never be forgotten. We are continuing production for the next few months, setting up shoots in April, May, June and July ready to get the film out there in time for the 30th anniversary of the start of the strike in March 2014. Keep coming back here for updates and you can check out the website for the film for more regular updates and news here- www.the-enemy-within.org.uk
