Still the Enemy Within Shortlisted For A Grierson Award
We are extremely pleased to announce that Still the Enemy Within has been shortlisted for a Grierson Trust Best Historical Documentary for 2014 award. Described as the ‘Oscars’ of the documentary world, it is a huge honor to be shortlisted alongside well established directors such as Adam Curtis and Nick Broomfield. The final nominations will be announced in September with the winner being chosen in November. Still the Enemy Within has secured distribution in the US and Canada with the prestigious distributor Bullfrog Films, this come shortly after signing a deal for distribution with Antidote Films in Australia for the film in Australia and New Zealand. With its universal appeal the film is going from international strength to strength. The film will be available in both countries in the next few months so watch this space for updates. January and February have been great months for the STILL THE ENEMY WITHIN team. Mark Lacey Producer marched alongside the stars of Pride and the Lesbian and Gays to support the last working miners in Britain. We have had packed community screenings across the country with hundreds turning out to see the film from Peckham to Pontypridd. And we had a double sell-out at our Hotdocs, Doc Soup Screenings in Canada. Things are only getting busier as we move into March and approach the anniversary of the end of the strike. We hope everyone had a really fantastic festive period. The team certainly did! We are rested and rearing to go full steam ahead into 2015. Our first stop this month is in Toronto, Canada, where the film receives its international premiere this evening courtesy of Hotdocs DocSoup. Next up, we are returning to the heartland of the strike with screenings in Kent, Yorkshire and Lancashire. Christopher Hird has produced an article on how crowdfunding has helped to build and maintain our audience – which continues to grow!
